Lessons I have Learned after Watching Coco… What Adult Should Learn From the Movie…

Last week, I had the joy of watching the Disney-Pixar animation, Coco. Which I have to say is a great family movie that brightens children’s imagination, and many lessons adults can learn. The dilemma of breaking tradition was faced by the protagonist, Miguel (voiced by Anthony Gonzalez). Who, despite was raised to hate music, wanted to pursue the life of a musician. He then faces the criticism and judgment of his family, while constantly struggling to find a way to convince them that music is his passion, and to not join the family business.

In his endeavor to ‘follow is dreams’ he finds himself walking amongst the departed souls when he attempted to steal the guitar that was once owned by his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (voiced by Benjamin Bratt), a legendary singer who he recently just concluded to be his great-great-grandfather. Upon meeting the souls of his ancestors, he finds out that the only way back to the human dimension was to receive a blessing from a relative; however, they may create a condition that once broken, will send him right back to the world of souls.
Lesson 1: The best way to prove a point is by doing it. The first thing I observed while watching the animation was that Miguel relates to many of today’s youth. His constant struggle to pursue his dreams, the conflict of having a non-supportive family, and endless hope for belonging.

Lesson 2: Never lose your principles while following your dream. Never settle for less than. You can achieve your dreams.

Lesson 3: Destiny will always find a way to make things right. Always have faith that things will be better eventually in one way or another. But it doesn't mean that you just have to sit and wait for things to happen, destiny only sets the course but you still have to find your way through the right one.

Lesson 4: The most wonderful blessings come in the most unexpected forms. Look at things at a different perspective and always see the beauty and goodness in everything. No matter how dark the clouds become, there's always a silver lining and sometimes, it's already right under our noses. We just have to learn to appreciate things more to notice it.
Remember all all dreams are possible. Go watch Coco Now!!! Dreams are just dreams until you decide they are going to be something more. When you add passion to your dreams your life circumstances will not keep you from achieving them. Dream chasing is not something everyone is cut out to do. Dream chasing is for those who dare to take a chance to believe, that their dream is something more, than a thought or possibility. Dream chasers know their dreams are worth chasing. Sometimes people want to go so fast that they sabotage the speed of their dream. The greatest dreams are the ones that are the most challenging; there is no easy button to living them. There is a transition phase that has to take place when you go from chasing to actually living the dream. When you honor your dream and quit moving fast… your mistakes are minimized and the successes are magnified.

My name is Tristan Jackson, through my website I want to inspire you!! My purpose for this blog's, websites, and book's  is to inspire people to achieve their dreams in spite of adversity.  I will be posting motivational quotes, bible verses, and college tips!!

    My story:
My life is a story of faith, hope, perseverance, survival, love, heartbreak, compassion, triumphs, and failures. God didn't promise days without pain, laughter, sorrow, sun or rain, but he did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way. If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas!! I was raised in a small low income neighborhood near downtown Houston called Fourth Ward   I will never forget where I came from, Fourth Ward, but I just tend to set my mind more on where I’m headed. I have learned that you must think outside of the box to obtain greatness.

As we go through life, it’s easy to get caught up in the status quo. You start to believe that average is acceptable and that since others are settling, then it’s ok to do the same. As soon as you notice this start to happen, something must be done to snap out of it!
